I am once again joining Bishop Spalding for our celebration of Sunday Mass, and I invite you to tune in at watchmass.com on Sunday morning.
As usual, I have also posted a video message for this Sunday, which includes a message about how we will begin restarting some of our regular liturgical life in the coming weeks: please watch at https://youtu.be/GvgW1BVA4yM or on the parish website.
Thanks be to God, Bishop Spalding has announced the parishes may resume public Mass beginning on Monday, May 18. I hope to resume our regular schedule of weekday and weekend Masses starting on that day. However, I want to remind you that the dispensation from the obligation to attend Holy Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation has been extended through June 30, 2020. Those who are over the age of 65, those who are sick or who live with anyone with any health vulnerability, and those who worry that attending Mass might jeopardize their health or the health of a person with whom they live: please remain at home for a little while longer! In light of the Sunday Mass dispensation, you might consider the possibility of attending a weekday Mass instead of Sunday Mass.
I thank you for your patience with the precautions and temporary changes in the way that we celebrate Mass that will be necessary for this particular phase in our journey back to normalcy.
In the meantime, between now and the 18th, remember that the church continues to be open two hours per day, 5:00 pm-7:00 pm on weekdays, and 11:00 am-1:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and confessions are available during these windows of time. And please remember to take full advantage of our parish subscription to formed.organd all the resources available at watchmass.com.
